Probably the best express lunch in the city. The food was excellent and a bruschetta, main and glass of wine of the quality we received is unrivalled at this price point. The food, service and presentation were first class and we truly enjoyed our fine dining expedience - for $55 each !. Il Mercato is a strange destination and there is probably more to be done to make the venue zing. However, with this as the cornerstone fine dining offering, I am sure it can become a vibrant place. Excellent lunch - thank you. We look forward to returning for dinner.

Thought we’d give this much hyped place a try. Walking into the building on a Friday night at 7pm most of the stalls in the market downstairs were closed so the atmosphere was pretty flat. Anyway we went upstairs to the restaurant. The staff were great. The decor in the restaurant has great (kind of a modern art deco) but we were sitting in roughly the middle of the restaurant and could hardly hear the jazz music being played in the restaurant because it was being drowned out by the dance music coming from the food court. They REALLY need a (glass) wall between the restaurant and the food court because it kills the atmosphere. The food was tasty but in most cases lukewarm warm and the sourdough to start was not great. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to try it which is a shame because it could be much better…

Had a great Saturday night dinner here. It wasn’t too crowded, so it was a nice chance to enjoy amazing food in a calm setting. The staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent. I especially loved the soft texture of the homemade gnocchi!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect Spot for a Family Dinner! This restaurant was the perfect choice for our family dinner. The food was absolutely incredible, and every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Here’s what we tried: • ARANCINI: A crowd-pleaser to start with. The crispy, golden rice balls were creamy inside, with cauliflower, scamorza, and Grana Padano. The Gorgonzola emulsion was the perfect finishing touch. • VITELLO TONNATO: This was a standout. The rare, charred veal was tender and delicious, paired perfectly with tuna mayo, capers, and a drizzle of E.V.O.O. Everyone at the table loved it. • TOMINO: Grilled cheese wrapped in prosciutto—what’s not to love? The fig jam, pickled grapes, and walnuts added just the right mix of sweet and savoury. A favourite for sure. • PAPPARDELLE AI FUNGHI: The ultimate comfort food. The wide pasta was smothered in a rich, creamy truffle sauce with mushrooms and Parmigiano. Absolutely delicious! • TRENETTE AI FRUTTI DI MARE: This seafood pasta was bursting with fresh flavours. The garlic, parsley, chili, and perfectly cooked seafood made it a big hit at the table. • CAPPELLACCI NERI DI MARE: A real showstopper. The squid ink pasta, filled with spanner crab and prawn mousse, was indulgent and full of flavour, with King prawn cutlets to top it off. • BISTECCA DI MANZO: The rib-eye steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. The truffled mash, mushrooms, and horseradish relish made it even better. • PATATE: Crispy fried potatoes with a sprinkle of sea salt flakes. Simple, but everyone couldn’t stop eating them. • TIRAMISU: A fantastic way to end the meal. Creamy mascarpone, coffee-soaked biscuits, and just the right amount of cocoa. Perfectly done! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was spot-on—friendly and attentive. It’s not easy to please everyone at a family dinner, but this place absolutely nailed it. Highly recommend for a relaxed and unforgettable evening with loved ones!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Italian Dining Experience! This Italian restaurant offers a truly exceptional dining experience, where every dish and drink is crafted with care and creativity. From start to finish, the flavors were outstanding and left us wanting more. • ARANCINI: A fantastic start! These crispy, golden rice balls with cauliflower, scamorza, and Grana Padano were creamy and rich, perfectly complemented by the Gorgonzola emulsion. • VITELLO TONNATO: Elegance on a plate. The rare, charred veal was incredibly tender, while the tuna mayo, capers, and a drizzle of E.V.O.O. created a harmonious balance of flavors. • TOMINO: A true standout. The grilled cheese, wrapped in savory prosciutto, paired beautifully with the sweetness of fig jam, the tang of pickled grapes, and the crunch of walnuts. Simply divine. • PAPPARDELLE AI FUNGHI: A mushroom lover’s dream. The long, wide pasta was perfectly coated in a rich truffle-infused sauce, with just the right touch of Parmigiano and butter. • TRENETTE AI FRUTTI DI MARE: Bursting with fresh, oceanic flavors, this seafood pasta was a perfect medley of tender seafood, garlic, parsley, and a hint of chili. • CAPPELLACCI NERI DI MARE: A showstopper. The squid ink pasta, filled with spanner crab and prawn mousse, was luxurious, and the King prawn cutlets were the perfect finishing touch. • BISTECCA DI MANZO: This rib-eye steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The truffled mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and horseradish relish made it utterly irresistible. • PATATE: Simple yet addictive. These perfectly fried potatoes with sea salt flakes were a crispy, golden delight. • TIRAMISU: The perfect ending to an incredible meal. With layers of creamy mascarpone, Marsala wine, coffee-soaked Savoiardi, and a dusting of cocoa, it was pure indulgence. • BLOODY NEGRONI: The best Negroni I’ve ever had! A perfectly balanced blend of Campari, Antica Torino Vermouth Rosso, Lucano Vermouth del Cavaliere, Australian Distilling Co Blood Orange Gin, and fresh blood orange. Bold, refreshing, and unforgettable—this cocktail was the cherry on top of a flawless evening. Every detail, from the presentation to the service, was impeccable. Each dish and drink was thoughtfully prepared, creating an extraordinary dining experience. This is the place to go for a perfect taste of Italy!
