Beun, simple exterior but fabulous delicious food!! Truly a Japanese fusion. Chef and staff are very friendly. Presentation is next level. It is a little pricey for the average but the quality of our meal was superb. I recommend the ramen, seafood pasta and chocolate mousse. We’ll definitely be back for more.

Overall, the experience was okay. The food presentation was fairly simple. We ordered the 400 g Angus beef steak, priced at $95, so expectations were quite high. The steak, however, was tougher than expected and a bit difficult to chew, and we weren’t provided with a knife, which made it harder to enjoy. The wait time was quite long, which we understand may be due to there being only one chef on duty. On a positive note, the pasta was the most enjoyable dish we had.

Beun Modern Japanese is a true hidden gem in Mermaid Waters. Located off Bermuda Street - Southport - Burleigh Road on Lakeview Boulevard next to the 7-Eleven Not large in size. But, huge in style, class and ambience. Service is welcoming and friendly. The Menu is not overwhelming. Does offer some interesting options. Had the Chirashi for Entree - has Salmon, Hokkaido Scallops, Crab with Avocado and Ramen Seafood for the Main. The presentation was first class and the dishes were exceptional. Very impressive Japanese Restaurant. Highly Recommend.

What a hidden gem Beun is. All the food were delicious. You can tell that the cool solo chef cooks with passion and attention to detail, because everything that came out from the kitchen were outstanding. If I have to give a minor criticism, it would be the amount of white rice served to us was only around half a cup. More would be much appreciated given the price. Overall, this is one of the best Japanese restaurants in GC.

Hidden gem, the food is amazing ! My children love the miso ramen, surprise how tender the chicken breast is , like melting in mouth, and I enjoyed my beef curry. Entrees we had sashimi salmon and chirashi very fresh.
