I first visited Fondata for a work Christmas function which was fantastic . Fabulous food , incredible views and a great atmosphere. I returned on a Sunday for there 3-5 pm Sunday afternoon session . There is a small but adequate menu of snacks . The lemon pepper calamari was a stand out . These 2 hours give you a chance to relax , enjoy the views and enjoy a drink . Will be returning for dinner ! Highly recommend

Fondata 1872 lives up to its reputation for rustic Italian food. Located in the beautiful Kangaroo Ground. We arrived for Pre-dinner drinks at the bar and discovered the fabulous Brix Wines ‘Mother Vine’ Pinot Noir 🍷🙌 Diining in the restaurant was a great experience. Ambience perfect, lovely open fire place. 🔥 Dinner selection: zucchini flowers, crispy pork belly with lentils, poached quince, red wine jus, and the 12 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder. Delicious 😋 The staff were friendly and professional adding to our dining experience. Highly recommend a visit 💫

Fondata 1872 brought us joy before we had even perused the menu. We were greeted and served by staff with the most radiant smiles and great energy. We started with superbly cooked calamari. A drizzle of lemon juice lifted it to a whole new level. My slow cooked lamb shoulder was so masterfully cassoulet-ed that I will never forget it. Ever. (So no photo ... I was preoccupied with studying the lamb's tenderness and marveling at the care with which chef had created the lamb jus). We finished with a very morish chocolate and berry mousse. We're already planning our next visit to Fondata 1872. Oh, did I mention the great views across the valley.

We celebrated our daughter’s holy communion at Fondata and it was an amazing experience. Our guests really enjoyed the beautiful views and the ambience, the food was delicious too. The staff were very accommodating and service was exceptional. Highly recommend this place .

Beautiful place, very cozy. Love the fire place and the fairy lights. Really like the ambience of the restaurant, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We ordered 3 courses dinner with a bottle of wine. The food was good in general, my children enjoyed their main whereas my fish was a little blend and there was a fish bone. Desserts were delicious. I didn’t like the toilet experience, not sure who went or what happened before me, the corridor to the toilets and inside the women’s smelt so terrible. Ventilation may not be good around there.
