Absolute gem of restaurant ! Food was simple, super fesh. You have to try their home made garlic bread! Choice of wine is really good Service was impeccable
What a wonderful date night we had at Fontana. From start to finish, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was divine. 1. Garlic Bread โ Beautiful sourdough with the perfect crunch, filled with generous amounts of roasted garlic and butter. Rich, flavourful, and an absolute mustโorder. 2. Stemperata โ A traditional dish with mackerel, perfectly balancing sweet and sour vinegar notes with fresh herbs. One of the biggest surprises of the night and easily one of my favourites. 3. Maccheroni Amatriciana โ Incredible depth of flavour, led by the salty guanciale and a gentle kick of spice. Pasta cooked al dente. Delicious. 4. Maiale โ Pork cutlet cooked to perfection with beautiful seasoning and tender beans on the side. The chefs here truly know what theyโre doing. Highly recommend, and I canโt wait to come back, especially with their rotating menu.
This is a hands down 5 stars from me. The derive was on point, the food absolutely delicious, with such unique flavours. Fabulous wine and cocktail list. And such a lovely space. I can't wait to come back again. Thank you for a fab evening.
Dear Ivey & Team I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share the wonderful dining experience we recently had at Fontana. A friend had highly recommended Fontana, you certainly did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was exceptional. The staff were attentive and ensured our group of 40 was well taken care of throughout the afternoon. The food was incredible! The garlic bread was a highlight, and each dish that followed was equally impressive. The wine selection was excellent, perfectly complementing our meals. Overall, I would rate Fontana a solid 10/10. If you haven't had the chance to visit Fontana yet, I highly recommend it for a memorable dining experience.
Heard about Fontana from a few chef recommendations, so expectations were high, and wow, did it deliver. Tucked away upstairs in Redfern, you walk through this quirky red entrance into a dark, cozy, and super vibey classic bar-style restaurant. The atmosphere is immediately on point. Let's get straight to it: the garlic bread. It is, without a doubt, the best bread I've had all year. It's like a dinner roll and a sourdough loaf had a perfect baby, with this insanely crunchy crust and a warm, savory, aromatic garlic sauce that just melts inside. I was genuinely mind-blown. The rest of the meal was just as strong. The octopus salad had this amazing umami dressing, and the pastas were top-notch. The macaroni (a long, thin tube shape here) was cooked to a perfect al dente, and the osso buco ragu was so rich and flavourful. The ricotta ravioli were also fantastic with a banging sauce. My only tiny critique is that a classic tiramisu on the menu would have been the perfect way to end the meal. But honestly, this place is a 10/10. An absolute must-visit.
