Adele is the consummate host and Wayne an outstanding chef! There's a reason Garden of Eating has been plating for over 35 years. With a menu that constantly evolves you can visit frequently and not eat the same dish twice, unless you want to. Highly recommended!
We were excited to try this place due to the reviews. Booked for my mums birthday, sadly the customer service from the minute we walked in was quite poor. No interaction. The place is so lovely, great atmosphere. Entrees we had snails and smoked kangaroo, the snail dish was lovely the kangaroo was 3 pieces like jerky. Definitely donโt recommend. Mains we tried the Balinese noodles, chicken and raviolo. Raviolo was raw, like dough. My mum didnโt eat it. Balinese dish had barely any flavour. Chicken was pretty decent but the small serving sizes were tiny. Not small, tiny. Fine dining sizes. This made us skip all together on dessert. Sadly, this experience was very very average and not once did they ask how anything was. I would not recommend this place if Iโm being honestโฆ
Loved dinner here. Culinary delight. Must tries are the kangaroo tacos and tofu. The chicken in coconut sauce was a bit disappointing in comparison, but the others were wonderful and bursting with flavour. Great and attentive service. We would have tried their deserts had we not been in a rush. So many GF and DF options. The decor is eclectic, but it really fits.
Overall an amazing experience. Three vegan mains to choose from and most desserts vegan. My favourite was the fritter but the dahl is a must to try too. We had the crumble and cheesecake for dessert with ice-cream, mousse and cotton candy. Preferred the crumble but so love hot puddings. Impeccable service, so attentive and happy. When all outside tables are full it can be a little noisy if sat in the middle but there is a great garden, lights and plants. Lots of parking nearby and a nice date for 2.
Absolutely exquisite food you will be hard pressed to taste anywhere else. Such a beautiful dining garden with relaxed vibe you will lose track of the time. Adele and Wayne are incredible they make you feel just at home. Truly is little gem nestled in South Townsville.
