It was a pleasant dining experience for myself. I enjoyed the calamari and other entrees we ordered for the table. I absolutely loved every slice of my main meal which was the potato/beef pizza (sorry cant remember the proper name). My only pain point was the bill; we had too many drinks...apart from that, I highly recommend visitors of Canberra to duck in and try this place.
La Cantina โ lovely atmosphere, mixed service experience We visited La Cantina with a group of four friends for a catch-up dinner and overall had a pleasant evening. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and lovely dรฉcor, and the staff were polite and friendly throughout the night. We had an early-ish dinner booking from 6pm, and by around 7pm the restaurant was completely full. As it filled up, it did become quite loud, so something to be aware of if youโre after a quieter dining experience. Everyone at the table ordered the marbled steak, which was enjoyed by all. However, while the staff were friendly, they werenโt particularly knowledgeable about the menu. They werenโt able to explain what the dessert-of-the-day option was, nor could they offer wine suggestions to pair with our mains, which was a little disappointing. A booking is definitely recommended, as the restaurant gets busy quickly. Overall, a nice venue with a great vibe, though improved menu and wine knowledge from staff would elevate the experience further.
@lacantinacanberra is one of the best Italian restaurants in Canberra located in the inner south. We started off with a rosemary and sea-salt focaccia. My friend tried the ppl belly and I had the spaghetti marinara with black spaghetti. I also had the tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu was spot in for portion so we left there feeling extremely satisfied - again! Also went for a 70th. The specials on offer were so yum.
Beautiful delicious authentic Italian food. Interior design of the restaurant was beautiful. Our only concern was the level of noise in the restaurant and being able communicate with each other without shouting. The wait lady that was assigned to our table was having a bad night and made sure we all were aware. All other staff were awesome. Casarecce, gnocchi, tiramasu & panacotta.
We couldnโt wait to try your food but sadly it was the biggest disappointment in Canberra so far. The lamb shank was one of the worst we ever had. Not mentioning the minimal portion of mashed potatoes which were nice. The lamb was so chewy and very dry. It didnโt fall off the bone. If we were dine in I would have returned it. $42 for this was a big joke. Honestly a precooked lamb shank from Coles tastes much better. I wish the gnocchi were without the beef ragu as were nice and fluffy itself. The beef ragu had only two tiny pieces of beef and the taste of ragu wasnโt pleasant. I was hoping for a very nice Italian homemade food and then we got this ๐ Thankfully Burrata and pizza saved a bit our dinner. Definitely it wasnโt a take away worth nearly $130. We paid almost $100 as we bought a Groupon for $70 and paid remaining $26 or $28.
