Love the atmosphere ! Love the caring detail, theyโre severing hot dish with a warm plate . Staff are very nice too! Highly recommended! However I am excited for trying their duck, but itโs out of the menu at the moment! Hopefully I will be able to try it next time!
A really special experience. I've not done fine dining before and this was definitely a great place to start. Everything was so fresh and well cooked. The produce was fresh and there was such attention to detail when it came to the flavour profiles. My highlights was definitely one of the entrees, with a light pastry filled with a cream and some micro herbs and some meat. I also really enjoyed the scampi in a ravioli. That was to die for, amazing sauce and it was incredibly fresh with no fishy flavour in sight. The dessert, although rich was multifaceted and portrayed chocolate in a really unique way.
We went to La Madonna two weeks ago during our vacation in Australia (Mexican & French family) and, we totally loved it, this place is lit. From the reception with the apรจro as we call it in France all the way to dessert, everything was on point. Quality of the food was excellent (We live in Paris and have high standards) and we loved the French/Italian concept. We received a surprise plate that was similar to a Mexican dish and I had no other choice but to congratulate the chef (I usually never do this), this dish brought me back to a Sunday brunch at my momโs house. Congratulations to the chef and staff, we loved the drinks, ambiance, food and attention!
The starter bread was very nice. Everything else is very mid. I've visited La Madonna 5 times before, this is the first visit since they changed chefs and management. In the past, it has been very reasonably priced and amazing amazing food. I was a little shocked by $34 for 2 tortellinis, it was not worth $17 each bite. Shanghai street dumplings make better dumplings. The lobster risotto was pretty salty, the duck felt like boiled, the outside had this pale colour that got me think so. The salad is like coles $3 salad. I know my comment is very harsh, but for the price tag I'd expect way better food. Not mentioning comparing to the past La Madonna this is quite disappointing. The service was very good, the only comfort that night ๐ everyone was very nice. I don't really recommend La Madonna, even it was one of my favourite in the past. Put in perspective, the duck was $65 for 2 pieces now, vs $45 for a full half roasted duck with better flavour.
I would like to extend my kudos to the La Madonna team for being amazing. The restaurant opens at 5pm but they made sure my dinner order was prepared as quickly as possible so that I wouldn't miss my flight. The staff took my order swiftly and the kitchen definitely did not disappoint either as they prepped the meal to table as speedy as they could. Despite this, the food tasted amazing and very impressionable while enabling me to make it to my flight on time. Service was amazing throughout. Food wise, loved both the scallops and john dory dish. Most pleasantly surprised was trying the sea herbs for the first time. Different but familiar. Love to have more. Would go back again. One thing that was a bummer for me is the restaurant is not open for dinners on Sundays and Mondays. Note: My visit was a few weeks ago but better late than never to share this review
