Drove up from Sydney NSW to have a weekend away with my family and we ate at Lunetta Trattoriaโs. The service here and the food were both immaculate and spot on! Sydney and Andrew (waiters) were so polite and professional at all times. They were both so kind and helpful throughout our meal which my family and I appreciated! Thank you Andrew for bringing a bowl out for my dog (we didnโt even have to ask) to have a drink, we immediately felt so comfortable and welcome, so thank you. The food here was absolutely delicious! I canโt stress this enough!! We ordered so much and could barely finish it haha This place is a must stop by!! The view and atmosphere speaks for itself. Will definitely be back next trip down. Thank you Lunetta Trattoria team๐๐ฝ
Recently enjoyed a friendโs birthday lunch here on a very hot day. The service was excellent and all of our shared dishes interesting and delicious- well apart from the โleafโ salad which didnโt add anything to the meal. The elevated position on Red Hill overlooking Canberra adds a special aspect to the Trattoria and is the perfect place to bring out of town visitors. There was plenty of parking the day we were there. On the whole this is an expensive restaurant compared to other trattorias in Canberra but the location worth it. We only ordered 3 mains and all four โsidesโ and no entreeโs for five people and we certainly had enough food. Being a very hot day we all opted for sparkling water and no wine. Iโd certainly return! ๐
This is a review of Lunetta Trattoria, not the upstairs restaurant. And, if the Trattoria is any guide, I keenly look forward to the restaurant! The Trattoria is quite excellent for a relaxed, informal lunch. Lovely light atmosphere, tables are quite close together but we didnโt find this intrusive because it is a buzzing atmosphere. The menu is quite self-explanatory; we chose ร la carte because the set ($120pp) menu looked like a lot of food; and, after sharing two entrees, a pasta dish, a main and a side from the menu, can say it would have been. Highlights were the sardines, beef carpaccio (quite large and very rich), duck fusilli, and beer brined wood fired roast chicken. Everything was cooked very carefully and provided a real mix of great flavours. Accompanied by a bottle of Sardinian vermentino, the cost was a very reasonable $130pp. Highly recommended!
Absolute gem of a spot in Canberra - didn't have a chance to go for dinner at Lunetta (main) but the views are a worthy compensation for lunch here. The stars of the show were the bbq octopus and wood-fired chicken - I hope they're still on the menu when I return! The softness of the flesh and the balance of the sauces were impeccable in both dishes. Also worth checking out their cocktails, each had an interesting and balanced flavour combination.
This restaurant is one of my absolute favourites! Iโve been here in Lunetta Trattoria four times already and it never disappoints. The food is beautifully simple yet so flavourful and every dish feels thoughtful, and the combinations of flavours just blend together perfectly without being overdone or pretentious. Their wine list is extensive and pairs wonderfully with the menu, the service is always warm and attentive, and the view is absolutely spectacular. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality you get. Itโs always a pleasure to come back to!
