Mister Margherita in South Melbourne is a true gem and an absolute must-visit for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. From the moment you step through the door, the atmosphere is welcoming, vibrant, and effortlessly stylish, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. The food is, simply put, sensational. Every dish is crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients that truly shine. I was particularly impressed by the dishes I sampled: Carbonara (Pasta): This was easily one of the best I've ever tasted. The creamy, rich sauce coated the al dente pasta beautifully, perfectly balanced with salty pancetta and fresh black pepper. It was deeply satisfying and authentically prepared. Pollo Pizza: The Pollo pizza was a delight. The crust had that perfect, lightly charred Neapolitan texture, and the toppingsโfeaturing tender chickenโwere generous and full of flavour. Melanzane Pizza: A creative and delicious twist on a classic taste, with eggplant roasted capsicum and provolone. It was rich, savoury, and unique. Beyond the incredible quality of the food, the customer service elevates the entire dining experience. The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They manage to be highly efficient without ever making you feel rushed. Combine the seriously tasty food with the great atmosphere and top-notch customer service, and you have a restaurant that excels on every level. I highly recommend Mr. Margherita and can't wait to return!
Delicious and incredible vibe! I will definitely be visiting again next time I am in Melbourne. Sam is a legend!
Excellent value, service and quality in an Italian market well served with high competition in Melbourne. Wine choices are limited but adequate. Lovely thin base pizzas. Waitress friendly & service driven. #58 tram at the door.
Mister Margherita is amazing. Such a great place in the heart of South Melbourne. The atmosphere in a small space is warm and homely. The menu is fantastic and the pizza is exceptional. This Italian restaurant knows how to create great pizza bases. Sam runs the show as a hands on owner but Jessica and the team in the kitchen are very talented. I have visited Mister Margherita many times because it is so great. I'll keep coming back ๐
Mister Margherita owner, please take my advise seriously and learn how to do your dough properly to cook on the Middleby Marshall Conveyor owen. This comes from a person that owned numerous Pizza restaurants and has eaten Pizza's all over the world. It tasted like you used a parbake salada bisquit type of base, added the ingreadients and put it through the conveyor owen. I also agree with the previuos review that the tomato sauce was similar to Domino's. Try using proper crushed tomatoes, either San Marzano but if that is too expensive for you, just normal crushed tomato will do. Good luck, I really hope you survive this competitive Pizza market. Regards Peter Hi Sam, after reading your response, I promise I will work on my spelling, but you definitely need to work on your pizza making skills. I forgot to tell you that I was one of the founding members of a large pizza chain in the 80s and 90s (over 120 stores in Victoria and NSW). Originally I was hoping that you will take my criticism seriously, but it doesn't look like you did. I leave you with a photo of the pizza's I produce at my house in a domestic oven, when I have time to do so. I honestly wish I had time before I purchased one from your shop. You can draw your own conclusion by comparing my home made pizza to yours. If you want, I'm happy to come and see you as a consultant and show you how you can make a dough to suit your pizza oven. All the best mate. Peter Hi Sam, originally it was spirit of the moment review due to disappointment of what I have purchased. I was very hungry that evening and expected something much better for $28.50 having read some of the reviews. Never previously have I left such a poor feedback for a pizza, as a matter of fact I have never even left a feedback about pizza quality ever before! I was also expecting a completely different and more mature reaction from you as the owner and I was going to remove my review after you responded, but since you dug in to my oven spelling and missed the whole meaning behind my review, I expanded my thoughts. I really suggest you should go and eat some pizza in other shops in the area, that charge around same price as you (actually less) like Bay 101 or Ciao Cielo. You need to understand, if you want to play in that price range that your quality needs to be on par with competition. Since you now backpedalling even more and telling me I wanted to discredit your name and questioning my intent, I stand by what I said and will not be commenting on this subject any more. I wish you all the very best. Regards Peter
