The restaurant itself was pretty empty on a Sunday during lunch hour. The waiters seemed nice but the food just wasnโt it. The menu is extremely small and even though the restaurant was pretty much empty it took them a long time to prepare our mains. The atmosphere was very cold and with not light on the inside whatsoever. If you are really desperate for food this place will work just fine but other than that I will not advise you to come here.
A wonderful time spent at Ombra, it being my fifth time now at this beautiful institution on Bourke Street, and never disappoints. Awaiting my friends, I was greeted warmly on arrival, and the exceptional service continued from there. Personable attention, and a beautifully paced evening by the staff. A particular highlight was the assortment of biscotti served with coffee at the mealโs end, and the incredible view overlooking the street outside. If you want a place to laugh with your loved ones, to enjoy great food and thoughtful service, I definitely recommend Ombra. Thank you.
I walked into Ombra without any knowledge of it looking for coffee and a small bite to eat & immediately loved the ambiance and tantalising aromas. Ordered a flat white and waited for around 10 minutes. When the coffee came it was in a takeaway cup, though Iโd asked to have it there. I realised that was why I hadnโt been offered water. I ordered tiramisu from another waiter, which arrived quickly but the subsequent coffee took another 10 minutes and I also had to request water. The tiramisu was lovely but the service wasnโt as good. There was also a surcharge as it was the wkend which I hadnโt anticipated, so the bill came to $25.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy ambiance that made us feel comfortable the moment we walked in. The scallop was delicious, and the Capricciosa Pizza was tasty. The Ciccetti Special, however, was far too salty. The bread was fresh and enjoyable, while the Polpette Sugo had a lovely light texture but was also overly salty. The tiramisu was fresh, though too sweet for our taste, so I wouldnโt order it again. Overall, the experience wasnโt great, as most of the food was either too salty or too sweet.
Good meals, good time and good friends๐ We have great time in this restaurant! Pasta and Pizza was really good. And the entree was good too. @
