From the moment we walked in, this restaurant delivered an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance was warm, stylish, and inviting, setting the perfect tone for the evening. Every detailโfrom the lighting to the table presentationโwas thoughtfully curated and added to the overall charm. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish showcasing a level of creativity and innovation that went far beyond the ordinary. The flavors were bold yet balanced, and the presentation was nothing short of artful. Itโs clear the kitchen takes pride in pushing culinary boundaries while maintaining impeccable taste. The staff were friendly, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the meal. Overall, this restaurant is a gemโa perfect blend of imaginative cuisine, outstanding service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable and elevated dining experience.
This is a beautiful restaurant and is worth visiting. We did the tasting menu with matched wines. They had some really good wine selections to pair with food. And they had themed dishes to match an art exhibition on at HOTA. I found the dishes to be 50/50 where some courses were great and others not so. It felt like they were trying to do too much or it didnโt work on those occasions. The staff were very lovely and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the kangaroo main.
The service was very nice and the location was good. It was difficult to find a park as there was an event on. The tables could have had a tablecloth. Also it would have been better to sit opposite each other - there was plenty of room for that. Now the food. The entree was amazing, especially the thinly sliced cuttlefish in the delicious broth. The fish main was nice, but the sauce was a little salty. The chicken main was nice, but I would have preferred less of the smoky flavour. The desert was nice, but didn't blow us away. All in all this is a great place, but we expected a bit more for the price. Perhaps doing the $100 set menu would have been better.
Unforgettable, and unmissable. We're from Melbourne and would easily fly up here just for a meal. Everything from the warm, friendly, fun service; to the amazing food, to the superb wine pairing, to the literal art on a plate, this is a must-try! Deserves all of the three chef hats, and for AU$150 (excl. wine) you'd be hard pressed to find any fine dining restaurant in the world that has prices like this. Also, shout out to Faith, she's our fave, so fun and infectious.
First time here and we were very impressed. The service was excellent from start to finish with professional friendly staff. For entrees we had the pork and cauliflower. The pork was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy and bursting with well balanced flavour. The cauliflower was complex and worth consuming slowly to take in the different flavours. For mains we had barramundi and wagyu. The barramundi was perfectly cooked and tasty, The wagyu was apparently cooked on the Hibachi and it was the standout dish. Paired with crispy potatoes and salad with premium olive oil it came pre-sliced so no cutting was required, and made it a pleasant eating experience. It didnโt taste fatty with the marbling simply adding to the flavour. This is a dish worthy of awards. The only disappointment was the side of mash potatoes. It came in a pool of liquid butter but even taking spoonfuls from the top the balance was wrong - too rich. Overall if you are seeing a show at HOTA plan dinner here first and you wonโt be disappointed.
