Had my wedding at Pilu at Freshwater earlier this month (January 2026). Im getting emotional just thinking about how beautiful and special the day was. We wanted a smaller wedding but we still wanted it to be gorgeous and we got so much more with Pilu. Not only was the wedding venue stunning and intimate, but it seemed to sparkle! Sofia Pilu was so supportive and responsive leading up to the wedding day and ensured everything was organised to perfection! The ceremony and reception were so perfect - the staff were outstanding and the food was delicous. Pilu will forever hold a special place in my heart and will be somewhere that I frequent for years and years to come. Thank you so much to the Pilu at Freshwater staff for making my wedding day exactly what I wished for and so much more.
Overall, a superb dining experience. The restaurant wins on location for its superb view overlooking Freshwater Beach. Tables are well spaced, staff helpful and friendly. The Sardinian influenced menu is fantastic, either a la carte or set course. The wine list first class, made better by the opportunity to drink premium and aged wine by the glass. All dishes were thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend.
Superb experience. Been wanting to try Pilu for years. Ciara our server was lovely, charming and very helpful when deciding what to try. Everything was delicious.
Giovani is a amazing and talented chef. I started dining at Pilu since 2011 and the food standard and quality never drop and in fact it gets better all the time. Its suckling pig is a must order dish. The place is good for lunch and dinner facing the sea with good view. A well kept heritage building. They just celebrated their 20th anniversary. I recommend this restaurant. Serve Sardinian dishes.
We came today to celebrate our anniversary and had the 5 course tasting menu (with an extra side of potatoes and the oysters for starters). The food was fantastic and the views were just gorgeous. The suckling pig is their signature dish and you pay an extra $15pp but it was worth it. It was enough food and I look forward to visiting again when the menu changes. The service was also lovely creating a good atmosphere.
